CINDY STEWART, CAE retired June 30, 2015, as President/CEO of the Family Health Council of Central Pennsylvania, Inc. (FHCCP) a position she held since May of 1999. FHCCP serves 24 counties in Central Pennsylvania by providing women's health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS case management, and cancer education and screening. Prior to becoming CEO of FHCCP, Cindy was President & CEO of Family Service of Lancaster County from 1989 to 1999 and Executive Director of the Welsh Mountain Medical and Dental Center, a community health center located in rural Lancaster County from 1979-1989.

Cindy earned a B.A. in business administration from Shippensburg University. She has a long history of Board and community service including nine years on the FHCCP Board of Directors, including three years as Chairman. Other Board involvement included the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (2 years Board Chairman), the Alliance of Pennsylvania Councils (10 years Board President), Family Planning Councils of America (3 years Board President), Family Service, Lancaster, (2 years Chair of the Board) and the Pennsylvania Society of Association Executives (1 year as President).
Her past community involvement includes the United Way of Lancaster Campaign Committee, The Junior League of Lancaster Community Advisory Committee, and the Lancaster County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (10 years as Chairman).

Currently, Cindy is serving as Treasurer of the Lancaster Parking Authority. She is a member of the Shippensburg University College of Business Advisory Board and a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). In 2005, she earned her certification from ASAE as a Certified Association Executive.

Cindy has worked with several organizations to help them transform their strategic planning process and their governance model. She has led successful executive director recruitments for the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers, the Lancaster County Housing & Redevelopment Authority and the Lancaster Parking Authority. In addition, she has provided training in the following topic areas: Managing Public Funds, Shifting to a High Performance Work Culture, Strategic Governance, Board/CEO Leadership Conversations, and How to Plan Strategically vs. a Strategic Plan. Cindy joined Essential Elements in 2010.
